International Medieval Congress 2027 — Communities

Europe's large interdisciplinary forum for medieval studies. The 2027 special thematic strand is Communities, covering political, religious, ethnic, linguistic, professional, urban, rural, textual and knowledge communities, together with identity, law, migration, ritual, material culture, inclusion, exclusion and belonging. Papers on any aspect of the Middle Ages are also eligible.

- Submission requirements
- Individual paper deadline: 31 August 2026. Session and round-table proposal deadline: 30 September 2026. Proposals in all major languages are welcomed.
- Presentation format
- Fully hybrid, with in-person and virtual participation; proposal forms ask presenters to state their preferred format.
